Applications invited for UU/GPA Scholarships

The GPA and Ulster University invite applications for Scholarship Opportunities
Members of the Gaelic Players Association (GPA) are invited to apply for a fully funded post-graduate scholarships available at Ulster University for the forthcoming academic year. The scholarships are available to GPA members for all full-time post-graduate programmes on offer at Ulster University and more information about the programmes can be found here.
The application process is now open and will close on July 26th, 2024. With interest in these opportunities very high over the past six years of the partnership, players are encouraged to research the programmes and apply early.
Applications should be made to the GPA’s Education Manager Brian Howard, brian.howard@gaelicplayers.com. Successful applicants will be selected using criteria agreed by the GPA and Ulster University.
The application process for the 2024/2025 academic year was opened at an event hosted at Ulster University Belfast Campus on Wednesday May 29th,attended by current inter-county players and Ulster University students Eamon Brown (Down) and Ciara Brown (Antrim) and GPA Education manager Braian Howard.
Speaking to mark the opening of the application process Dr John Farrell Ulster University GAA President said, “We are delighted to continue our partnership with the GPA. High level sports achievement and academic achievement are intrinsically linked, and our previous scholarship recipients have attained great success in their both their chosen courses and sports.”
GPA Education Manager Brian Howard added; “Our Enhanced Scholarship Programme is one that we are very proud of at the Gaelic Players Association as it has a transformational impact on the lives of the successful candidates. We could not do this without the steadfast support of our educational partners and for that I want to say a huge thanks to Ulster University. Your desire to help players be the best they can be both on and off the pitch aligns exactly with the GPA’s.”
